Description

What materials are needed

For successful creativity you will need:

  • acrylic paints;
  • thinner (the simplest is water);
  • plastic cups and mixing sticks;
  • canvases;
  • gold leaf, car oil, glitter - to give additional effects;
  • disposable towels, oilcloth, robe - for protection from paint.

The list of basic materials is elementary - canvas, acrylic paints and water. But even with such a minimal set the work turns out excellent!

The author mixes yellow paint in a plastic cup and dilutes it with an acrylic compound (40% liquid PVA glue + 60% water). The composition varies from artist to artist.

Drawing with a sponge and cotton swabs

Description

One of the most striking non-traditional techniques is painting with a sponge and cotton swabs. The results obtained using this technique can be called impressionistic painting. And everything is very simple.

A foam sponge is dipped into paint, then it is used to make prints that create texture on objects: tree crowns, animals, clouds.

In the video, the artist, after preparing the background, draws the outline of a tree and branches with a brush. Then he takes a bunch of cotton swabs, dips them in paint and makes a voluminous crown.

The author of this video tutorial promises that such a masterpiece can be completed in 5 minutes. And I willingly believe him! One of the main conditions is to choose the right color. Look at the beautiful shades of paint the artist uses. In this case, it is acrylic.

Standard gouache sets do not have such a variety of pigments and such delicate shades can hardly be achieved by mixing. Therefore, I advise you to still use acrylic paint.

First, the author uses a sponge to apply green paint in dotted movements, creating a gradient background. Then, using a bunch of cotton swabs, he draws dandelion caps and highlights on them. Finishes the work with a brush, drawing the stems of the flowers. And splashes a little yellow paint, imitating the movement of pollen in the sun.

In this lesson, the main character is an ordinary sponge for washing dishes, and of course, paint.

The artist paints almost everything with a sponge, applying acrylic paint and a sheet of paper with dotted movements. He only paints the tree trunk with a brush.

TECHNIQUES OF VISUAL ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN IN PRESCHOOL AGE

There are many non-traditional drawing techniques; their unusualness lies in the fact that they allow children to quickly achieve the desired result. The use of unconventional drawing methods evokes an abundance of positive emotions in children; makes it possible to use often unexpected objects as visual materials, surprising children with originality and unpredictability. Knowledge, skills, pedagogical tact enable the child to create his own picture of the world, and non-traditional drawing methods make the drawing beautiful, understandable, attract him and interest him. The idea of ​​pedagogical experience is to develop the creative abilities of each child using non-traditional techniques, to help realize themselves, to be able to combine various materials in one drawing to obtain an expressive image.

Factors that allow me to prevent monotony and boredom in children's visual activities, ensuring the vividness and spontaneity of children's perception:

• diversity and variability of work with children;

• novelty of the environment;

• unusual start of work;

• beautiful and varied materials;

• interesting and non-repetitive tasks for children;

• choice.

The teacher’s task is to support children’s initiative, developing their creativity. The main task that confronted me regarding artistic and aesthetic development was not only the implementation of a personality-oriented approach to each child, but also the ability of children to work in pairs and collectively. This develops communicative qualities in children: the ability to negotiate, plan their work, and achieve results through joint efforts.

Working with children of senior preschool age, I noticed: children love to draw, diligently master the skills of working with various tools and visual materials, master individual techniques and methods of drawing, but when creating their own works, children’s visual and expressive skills remain at an average level, many compositions stand out for their scarcity content, stamps. There is no main thing - “our own”, sincere drawings, there is no creative approach, they do not reflect what is significant for the child drawing them. After analyzing the drawings of preschoolers, I came to the conclusion that it is necessary to facilitate drawing skills, because not even every adult will be able to depict any object. This can greatly increase preschoolers’ interest in drawing.

Every time I create a new situation so that children, on the one hand, can apply previously acquired knowledge, skills, abilities, and on the other hand, look for new solutions and creative approaches. This is what evokes in a child positive emotions, joyful surprise, and a desire to work creatively. I try to diversify both the color and texture of the paper, since this also affects the expressiveness of the drawings and confronts children with the need to select materials for drawing, think through the coloring of the future creation, and not wait for a ready-made solution.

Water painting technique - ebru

Description

This technique was born in the East back in the 12th century. Its essence is as follows: special paints are placed on the water surface to create a film. The artist carefully mixes them in water, creating the intended composition. Then the image is transferred to the surface using paper or fabric.

Examples

First, a background is created - paints are randomly splashed across the surface. You can take several colors, but no more than three. Then a circle is drawn on the water, and with the help of tools it takes the desired shape. For beginners, I recommend starting with something simple – flowers or marine patterns.

What materials are needed

Ready-made ebru kits are sold in stores. These include:

  • paints with natural wax from astragalus nectar (a plant from the legume family);
  • wooden brushes;
  • thick cardboard or paper;
  • thickener;

You can prepare all this yourself, but it’s easier to buy a ready-made kit. Additionally, paper napkins and a wide container for water will come in handy.

How to draw a jellyfish using the ebru technique

Here the artist shows how to draw a jellyfish. The background is made with yellow paint. Blue paint is splattered into the top of the tray. It should be distributed evenly over the surface of the tray. Algae are drawn in green. The jellyfish will be red: dip the brush into the paint and make a circle in the water. Then a brush with orange paint is placed in the center of the red circle. With its help, the circle takes on the desired shape.

Finger painting (fingergraphy)

Tactile sensations are, along with visual impressions, the leading way of understanding objects and phenomena around us. Therefore, special attention is paid to fingergraphy in kindergarten. But if in the younger groups children made dotted strokes, for example, painted peas on an umbrella, then in the middle group the children learn to draw lines, spots of different sizes, strokes, and also paint over certain elements of the drawing.

In the middle group, the practice of finger drawing according to a pattern is introduced. The teacher tells, shows and hangs up an algorithm of actions on the board, how to draw an animal or a person using prints and dots-squiggles made with a pencil.

Schemes of step-by-step finger painting are presented in the book by I. Molnar “Imprint, dot, stroke. We paint with our fingers."

For fingerprinting, gouache is usually used, since it does not require dilution with water, is thick and produces bright shades. However, you can also use special hypoallergenic paints for finger painting, as well as watercolors. When working with the latter, before dipping your finger into the paint, you need to moisten it with water or drop some water into a container with watercolors.

Finger painting technique

The sequence of work in the fingergraphy technique is as follows:

  1. Dip your finger into the paint can.
  2. Using each finger we pick up paints of different shades. Remove excess with a damp cloth.
  3. Using your fingertips, apply the design to the sheet.
  4. After finishing work, wash your hands with soap.

In addition to berries and leaves, kids can also use their fingers to draw lines to depict branches.

Palm painting

As with finger painting, palm painting involves creating an imprint and adding to it using brushes. In the middle group, the imprint becomes the basis for creating various objects: birds, foliage, fish, etc. In addition, with your palms you can create elements such as leaves on trees, flowers in a vase, hedgehog needles, etc.

For palm painting, the drawing algorithm will be as follows:

1. Place your palm in the saucer with paint. In the second semester, children learn to create multi-colored prints with one hand, so the paint will be applied with a brush held in their free hand. The skill of such multi-colored prints is developed in lessons on the topic “Bullfinch”, “Butterfly”, etc.

2. Press your palm firmly against the sheet, if necessary, slightly turn it in a circle, horizontally or vertically.

3.After finishing work, wash your hands with soap.

Poking drawing

This technique is indispensable when creating “fluffy” or “spiky” images. Needles on a hedgehog, fur on a kitten, Christmas trees, dandelions - all these images acquire a special flavor thanks to the poking technique.

To create a poke:

  1. Place a dry brush with stiff bristles into a jar of gouache.
  2. Holding the brush vertically, we make a sharp blow to the paper.
  3. Rinse the brush and blot with a napkin.

The poke can only be done with a dry or semi-dry brush.

Toothbrush painting technique

To obtain voluminous, multi-layered designs, a toothbrush is used. Having collected the paint, we brush it across the sheet, focusing on the design.

In the middle group, drawing with a toothbrush is usually combined with the use of the poking method, appliqué or drawing with cotton swabs.

Monotype

This unconventional technique involves creating a picture by imprinting part of the design on the blank half of a folded sheet. At the age of 4–5, through monotype, children begin to master landscapes, which they will work with in older groups, train the ability to find the middle of an object, and develop the skill of seeing symmetry.

At the same time, not only symmetrical, but also paired objects are created in this way. To do this, a whole image is drawn on one half of the sheet, which is also completely printed on the second side.

Monotype technique

To create a monotype image:

  1. We bend the sheet in the middle - vertically or horizontally, depending on the location of the depicted object.
  2. Unbend and draw a picture on one half.
  3. We bend the sheet again and iron it with our hands.
  4. We expand and supplement the resulting image with the necessary elements. For example, let’s make a blue background for a river in which a forest is displayed.

In the drawing of a forest reflected in a lake, after unfolding the sheet, children draw a green strip of grass.

Spray

The essence of the technique is that kids pick up paint with a brush or comb, and, pointing it at the sheet, run a pencil along the bristles, thus painting the space of the drawing.

In the middle group, children become familiar with the concepts of foreground and background. For this, the multilayer spray method, which involves the use of stencils, will be an indispensable assistant.

Methodology for working with multi-layer spraying

To make a multi-layer spray:

  1. We attach the stencil to the sheet using paper clips.
  2. Take the paint with a brush.
  3. Let's spray.
  4. Apply another stencil.
  5. Spray a different color.
  6. We remove the stencils - the image turned out to be voluminous and multifaceted.

For multi-layer spraying, you can use stencils of the same image, but of different sizes, then you will get a flickering effect

Scratch

The technique involves scratching image lines on a paper substrate coated with paint according to a pattern previously applied with wax crayons.

Grattage technique

The procedure for creating a grattage drawing will be as follows:

  1. Color the drawing with wax crayons.
  2. Fill the surface of the sheet with black paint or ink.
  3. Leave to dry.
  4. Using a stick with a sharp end (for example, a wooden kebab skewer), we scratch the lines to reveal the design.

Drawing through wet gauze does not require the use of unusual tools; the picture is created with a brush and paints.

To create a drawing using the original technique:

  1. We moisten the sheet with pieces of wet cotton wool or cotton pads.
  2. Place gauze on the paper and straighten it well.
  3. We create the drawing as usual.
  4. Let it dry, remove the gauze - the image becomes textured.

When painting through gauze, you need to apply the paint generously, as some of the “color” will disappear after removing the fabric.

Drawing with glue and semolina

We mark the indicated contours of the drawing with glue, pour in semolina and press it on top with a clean sheet. Remove the top sheet and shake off the remaining cereal. The elements are filled in one by one.

In the middle group, with this type of drawing, kids practice the ability to outline a stencil and apply glue exactly within the boundaries of the image.

The substrate for drawing semolina should be colored, since the grain will be invisible against a white background.

Wax painting

In the middle group, kids draw lines, spots and simple geometric shapes with a candle.

To create a candle design:

  1. We draw the outlines of the design on a white sheet with a candle.
  2. Paint the sheet with any colors.
  3. The wax lines remain unpainted and appear on the substrate.

Drawing with a wax candle is usually used in winter-themed lessons.

A variation of this technique is drawing with wax crayons. The process technology will be the same, but the wax pencils are multi-colored, so the drawings after filling with paint will be brighter.

For painting with wax, it is better to take watercolor paper, since children may not calculate the degree of moisture in the brush, and the sheet may break through.

Blotography

The essence of the technique is to obtain pictures based on spots and blots. Spots can either be used to decorate a design as intended, or can be used as a basis for an image in a traditional style.

To create blots:

  1. Dip the wet brush into the paint.
  2. Make a stain or place a drop.
  3. Blow from a cocktail straw onto the paint, blowing it in the desired direction.

To highlight the texture of the depicted object - clusters of flowers, curly clouds - the method of applying paint with foam rubber (or a piece of sponge) is used. To prevent the sponge from getting your hands dirty, it is clamped with a clothespin that acts as a handle.

Stamping technique using natural materials

A whole vegetable (onion, corn, potato, cucumber, etc.) or fruit, berry (apple, lemon, feijoa, etc.), cut in half, flowers (daisies), shells, is painted and an imprint is created on paper. This technique is convenient for drawing cross-sections of fruits and vegetables. For example, to create the composition “Grandma’s Compote,” kids draw the outlines of a pan with a pencil, and depict fruits with stamps.

Spray technique

Description

Another interesting unconventional drawing technique, although it requires a lot of additional materials. To prevent drops of paint from staining everything around, cover the surrounding surfaces with oilcloth. It is best to paint over a sink or bathtub.

The paint is mixed with water to the consistency of thick sour cream. The brush or toothbrush is wetted in water, and excess moisture is shaken off. Splashes cover individual areas of the canvas. If necessary, the position of the hand changes, and the paint is sprayed horizontally, vertically, etc. If you need to increase (decrease) the size of the drops, the bristles are brought closer (further away) from the paper.

Examples

Trees, leaves, the sun and other natural phenomena are produced interestingly using the “spray” technique.

The “one stroke” decorative painting technique is very popular, which translated from English means “one stroke”. It was invented in Europe. Among the Slavs, this technique is known under the term “Khokhloma”. The upper part of the brush is dipped in paint of one color, the lower part in the second. In one motion, images of flowers, trees, and animals are applied. The meaning of the technique is a smooth transition from one color to another. This makes the image very bright and realistic.

Examples

As a basis, you can take a cardboard blank, for example, a flower. You need to paint it with a brush with a beveled edge; it is convenient for making halftones. By painting the petals one by one, you will end up with a wonderful bud.

Birds and portraits come out well with this technique. First, a blank is created on a sheet of white paper with a simple pencil. The brush is dipped in two paints and drawn over the surface of the drawing. It is important to tilt and rotate the brush correctly.

What technique is used in practice?

Drawing with cotton swabs

An unusual drawing technique develops a sense of rhythm and color. Cotton swab (stick) - a popular drawing technique is called the “poking method”. When creating a drawing, it is impossible to do without a cotton swab, container, and wet wipes. When creating a new material, little artists place a stick in a container of paint, and then apply imprints to the drawing.

Theme “Beautiful Flowers” ​​for drawing lessons in middle groups

Important! Young artists can depict a river, rainbow, grass, rain, snow, sun, tree, sky or something else.

When creating a drawing using a cotton swab on the theme “Trees when autumn comes,” the teacher must show the children how to properly hold this object in their hands.

Instructions: Children receive blanks of tree trunks with branches, cotton swabs, and paints.

Important! To make it easier for the children, you can mark the area of ​​the drawing, indicating the exact location of the foliage.

Finger painting

To implement this method, you can do without certain material. For example, a teacher prepares paint in advance with wet wipes.

Note! Implementing teamwork based on this technique is a great idea for both educators and preschoolers.

The teacher takes into account the mental and physical characteristics of the children and prepares a topic for drawing in advance, for example, “Foliage of autumn trees.” The teacher provides the little artists with a template - a large tree.

Other themes are also covered, such as “Winter” or “Summer is Coming.” In kindergartens, the finger painting “Snowflake” is most often created. To perform it, paints and pencils are used.

Instructions: The teacher distributes A4 sheets. The guys must draw a snowflake. To complete the work you will need a blue and white pencil.

Drawing with palms

This method is not the most accurate, since children must draw with their palms. Before creating a drawing, the teacher must prepare a shallow container of paint. Pour some water inside and drip some gouache.

Note! Using this method, you can easily create collective drawings, for example, “Fish in the Aquarium”, “Our Aquarium”, “Merry Matryoshka”, “Firebird”, “Winter has come”.

Instructions: The teacher shows the children the finished substrate. The drawing is created on a sheet with a blue background. The guys must completely dip their palm into the container of paint. Then the teacher calls on the kids to go to the table where the aquarium is located, stand in a circle and leave their imprint there with their thumb up or to the side.

There is no need to put a mark on the one that the first comrade has already put. The teacher also warns that the fish must be located at a certain distance from each other. Then make an eye for your fish using white paint. Dip your index finger into black paint, make a pupil and carefully draw a line near the mouth.

Drawing with soap bubbles

This technique is the most difficult. Here children will have to show their imagination (open mind). Before starting to draw with soap bubbles using the preschool method, the teacher prepares material in the form of liquid soap, baby shampoo, water, watercolors (food coloring), cocktail tubes, and spoons.

A long-term lesson plan to familiarize yourself with the world around you

Initially, the teacher prepares the mixture, and then pours the mixture equally into small glasses. You can prepare the paint by diluting soap with water (the ratio should be 10:1). After obtaining the mass, the addition of dye and a little gelatin or glycerin is required. Thanks to these components, the bubbles retain their shape for a long time. The finished mixture will have to be placed in a cool place (away from the sun) and kept for 2 days.

Important! It is recommended to strain the mass through cheesecloth. The finished mixture should be placed in the refrigerator for 10 hours. Having received the material, you can make a outlined and regular print.

Another interesting unconventional drawing technique that has gained recognition among beginners and professional artists. And its meaning is simple. Take a small piece of foil from which a lump is formed. Then it is lowered. into paint and applied with dotted movements onto a sheet of paper or canvas.

There is another option when the paint is first applied in thick layers, and then it is shaded using crumpled foil.

Typically, this technique uses acrylic paint or gouache. Landscapes are the best. A brush is used to work out small details.

The peculiarity of this technique is that the paint, under the influence of foil, acquires a heterogeneous texture and looks voluminous after drying.

First, the author attaches a moon stencil (circle) to the paper to preserve a white background for it. Next, apply drops of paint around the moon. Using a wad of foil, shades the paint. The surface is textured. A lot of paint is applied and it takes the form of the curves of an improvised “brush”.

"Imprint with crumpled paper"

"Leaf Prints"

Method of obtaining an image: the child covers a piece of wood with paints of different colors, then applies it with the painted side to the paper to make a print. Each time a new leaf is taken. The petioles of the leaves can be painted on with a brush.

"Foam drawings"

Method of obtaining an image: we make various small figures from foam rubber (you can simply dab it with foam rubber), and then attach them with a thin wire to a stick or pencil (not sharpened). The tool is already ready. Now you can dip it in paint and paint using stamps (all foam rubber, unlike cotton wool, washes well).

“We draw with glue and salt”

Method for obtaining an image: use PVA glue to draw a pattern on cardboard, for example, a flower or a vase. Place it in a baking dish and sprinkle well with salt. The shape is needed so as not to spill salt everywhere. After the glue has dried, shake off any excess grains. Dip the brush into the desired color. Gently touch the salt line and see the color flow along the outline. Use different colors in different parts of the drawing, they will blend very nicely in transitions. Fill in all the taped lines with color and leave to dry. It may take one or two days for it to dry completely.

“Drawing with soap bubbles”

Method of obtaining an image: shampoo or liquid soap is added to the water. Concentration is approximately 1:10. The proportion is not strict, but you shouldn’t go too far to the side. If the bubbles are intended for a small child, it is recommended to use tear-free baby shampoo. To make the bubbles large and not burst for a long time, add a little gelatin or glycerin to the water.

“Drawing with the bottom of a bottle”

Method of obtaining an image: first you need to dilute the gouache in a saucer, then start drawing. We lower the bottom of the bottle into a saucer with paint and apply an imprint to the paper. After drying, you can complete the drawing.

“Drawing with microbeads”

Method of obtaining an image: initially coat the image with PVA glue. Then sprinkle the image with microbeads.

“Drawing with cereals”

Method of obtaining an image: initially coat the image with PVA glue. Then sprinkle the image with any cereal (semolina, buckwheat, millet, rolled oats, rice).

"Stampography"

Method of obtaining an image: any shape (anything) is cut out from any material, for example, soft plastic or sponge. For greater convenience, you can glue the figure to a cork or pencil. First you need to dilute the gouache in a saucer, then we start drawing. We lower the stamp into a saucer of paint and apply an imprint to the paper.

“Draw with the edge of the palm”

Method of obtaining an image: in the middle of the sheet the child draws with the edge of his palm. It is dipped in paint and imprinted on paper as necessary for the design it represents. Then the paint is wiped off with a rag.

"Drawing with a fist"

Method of obtaining an image: the child dips his fist into the gouache or paints it with a brush and makes an imprint on paper. After work, wipe the fist with napkins, then the gouache is easily washed off.

"Drawing on Wet Paper"

There are a number of objects, subjects, images that are best drawn on damp paper. Clarity and vagueness are needed, for example, if a child wants to depict the following themes: “City in the fog,” “I had dreams,” “It’s raining,” “City at night,” “Flowers behind the curtain,” etc. You need to teach your preschooler to make the paper a little damp. If the paper is too wet, the drawing may not work. Therefore, it is recommended to soak a ball of cotton wool in clean water, squeeze it out and rub it either over the entire sheet of paper, or (if required) only over a separate part. And the paper is ready to produce unclear images.

“Poke with a hard semi-dry brush”

Method of obtaining an image: the child dips a brush into the gouache and hits the paper with it, even vertically. When working, the brush does not fall into the water. Thus, the entire sheet, outline or template is filled. The result is an imitation of the texture of a fluffy or prickly surface.

"Drawing with a fork"

Method of obtaining an image: first you need to dilute the gouache in a saucer, then start drawing. Place a fork in a saucer of paint and apply an imprint to the paper. After drying, you can complete the drawing.

"Spray"

Method of obtaining an image: the child picks up paint on a brush and hits the brush on the cardboard, which he holds above the paper. Then he paints the sheet with watercolors in one or more colors. Paint splashes onto the paper.

"Bitmap"

Method of obtaining an image: to implement it, you can take a felt-tip pen, a pencil, place it perpendicular to a white sheet of paper and start drawing. But the best thing to do is dotted drawings with paints. A cotton swab is dipped into thick paint. And then the principle of drawing dots is the same.

"Ordinary blotography"

Method of obtaining an image: the child scoops up gouache with a plastic spoon and pours it onto paper. The result is spots in a random order. Then the sheet is covered with another sheet and pressed (you can bend it in half, drip mascara on one half, and cover it with the other). Next, the top sheet is removed, the image is examined: it is determined what it looks like. The missing details are completed.

"Blotography with a tube"

Method of obtaining an image: the child scoops up paint with a plastic spoon, pours it onto the sheet, making a small spot (droplet). Then blow on the stain from a tube so that its end does not touch either the stain or the paper. If necessary, the procedure is repeated. The missing details are completed.

"Monotype"

Image acquisition method: This is one print. To make it, you need polyethylene or paper as a base for applying watercolor or gouache stains on them, then a clean sheet of paper is placed on top of the drawing, carefully ironed on top with your hand and removed. The result is a print that, just like a blot, can be completed.

"Foam impression"

Methods for obtaining an image: the child presses the foam onto a stamp pad with paint and makes an impression on the paper. To get a different color, change the bowls and foam.

"Wax crayons + watercolor"

Method of obtaining an image: the child draws with wax crayons on white paper. Then he paints the sheet with watercolors in one or more colors. The chalk drawing remains unpainted.

“Drawing with shaving foam”

Method for obtaining an image: beat the foam and collect it with a sponge. Now squeeze out the sponge so that the foam ends up in the paint container. Stir and use a brush to apply foam and paint onto the paper. When the drawing is dry, the excess foam can be blown off.
