Do you know that origami is like a magic trick - a wonderful figure is born from an ordinary sheet of paper in a few minutes! Since ancient times, Japanese wisdom says: “The Great Square has no limits.” Try to fold a simple figure, and you’ll instantly be captivated by something interesting.

2. Theoretical part.

The Japanese art of origami has long crossed the borders of its homeland, becoming widespread in many countries. Making colorful paper crafts using repeated folding and bending techniques attracts not only children, but also adults; this activity is exciting and useful for preschool children. Homemade toys have great pedagogical potential.

They introduce the simplest concepts accepted in geometry: side, angle, diagonal and figures: square, rectangle, triangle. The basic shape in origami is a square. This is not only a geometric figure, but also a standard that has constant characteristics. When making a figurine, children transform the square according to instructions (verbal) or a diagram. For example, “overlay the lower right corner on the upper left, attach the lower side to the upper,” etc. Understanding and mastery of such instructions develops the child’s ability to navigate on a plane, in the environment - which further increases the effectiveness of teaching children to write in a cage, because a cage is also a square.

They develop imagination and creativity, constructive thinking and intelligence, expand gaming experience, provide knowledge about the world around them, enrich children’s vocabulary, and develop the ability to communicate with each other. In addition, during the work process, the child’s hands become more dexterous, which has a positive effect on his development.

Medical specialists believe that origami allows you to more fully use mental resources, harmoniously developing both hemispheres of the brain. Making colorful paper crafts using repeated folding and bending techniques is a fun and useful activity for children. Japan was able to give the whole world the art of origami, and it has long gone beyond the bounds of fascinating creativity and is widely used in everyday life, architecture, packaging materials, robotics and much more.

On the other hand, origami is actively used in the entertainment and holiday industries. It is worth remembering only the traditions of celebrating the New Year in many countries. It is during this period of the year that origami comes to life with new vigor every time. Paper figures suddenly fill everything around and bring a feeling of celebration to homes and city streets.

Origami is often used to decorate the Christmas tree, which can not only significantly reduce the cost of the celebration, but also keep restless children busy with an interesting and exciting activity.
