Rainbow with water drops
This method is very interesting to carry out in the countryside, in the courtyard. When it's a sunny day, take the kids by the hands and try this experiment.
- It's actually very simple, you just need a regular hose with water.
- For everything to work out, first stand with your back to the sun.
- Start moving the hose in different directions, up and down, and eventually until you see a rainbow.
- We advise you to conduct this experiment in the summer, because children are very curious and will want to touch this amazing natural phenomenon.
Rainbow with clouds made of colored paper
From the remains of colored double-sided paper and cotton wool, you can make an original craft in the form of a multi-colored rainbow with air clouds.
Necessary materials for a rainbow made of cotton wool and paper:
- a piece of cotton wool; - colored paper or semi-cardboard in all shades of the rainbow; - office glue; - scissors; - ruler; - pencil.
Stages of making a rainbow from paper and cotton wool:
1. Before you start creating an original craft, you should remember what colors it contains. Then choose shades so that they transition as smoothly as possible from one color to another. For example, take red, orange and yellow. This will be enough, but if you have a couple more shades of yellow or orange, this will enrich our rainbow.
So, we take the paper that we selected for the craft and cut out 12 x 2 cm ribbons from it.
2. Now let's arrange them the way they will be. After all, in a real rainbow, the colors are always located exactly like this.
3. Shorten each strip a little. So our red stripe will be the longest. And lilac is the shortest.
4. Bend each strip.
5. Glue an orange strip to the red one. Glue should be applied to the ends of the strip.
6. Now we will glue the yellow stripe to the orange one.
7. We continue to glue the stripes in the same spirit. This way we get a finished multi-colored figure.
8. From small pieces of cotton wool we form two clouds. We apply stationery glue to them and glue them on the sides of the rainbow.
9. Our multi-colored rainbow with clouds made from scrap materials is ready! You can hang it on a string and decorate your child’s room, or simply place it on a shelf as a decorative element.
Material (senior group): Broken applique “Rainbow-arc”
Dear parents!
I suggest you and your children do the work
“Rainbow-arc” in the style of broken applique.
This mosaic rainbow, assembled from small parts, has an original look. Its creation will require attention and accuracy from the child.
In the process of work, the child will continue to improve the ability to carefully tear small pieces from a sheet of paper and stick them on the base, work with glue, and consolidate knowledge of the colors of the rainbow. This activity promotes the development of fine motor skills and creative imagination in children.
Preliminary work: looking at the picture “Rainbow”, memorizing the saying “Every hunter wants to know where the Pheasant sits” to remember the colors.
Materials and equipment: white cardboard, pencil, colored paper (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), glue.
First you need to draw a rainbow on a piece of paper. Then you need to carefully tear off small pieces of colored paper of the desired color and sequentially stick them on the base. It is advisable to leave a small space between the pieces of glued paper. Then the finished cut-out applique will look like a mosaic.
Good luck!
Lesson summary on application in the middle group “Miracle Rainbow”

Lesson summary on application in the middle group “Miracle Rainbow”
Lesson summary of direct educational activities on artistic and aesthetic development (application) in the middle group
Topic: "Miracle - Rainbow"
Tasks:
1. Introduce children to the primary colors of the spectrum.
2. Learn to make a rainbow from the seven primary colors of the spectrum, sequentially arranging the colored stripes.
3. Reinforce the names of primary colors (red, blue, yellow, green) in children’s speech.
4. Improve children's technical skills: the ability to carefully glue ready-made forms onto a cardboard sheet of paper according to a sample.
5. Develop creative imagination, the ability to imagine your future work.
Material:
Demonstration material: “Seasons. Summer"; sun and cloud, cut out of colored cardboard; arcs made of colored paper in the primary colors of the spectrum, white cardboard.
Handouts: white cardboard; arcs of the primary colors of the spectrum cut out of colored paper; a sun and a cloud cut out of cardboard; didactic game “Magic Rainbow”.
Progress:
Introductory part : The teacher invites the children to listen to the fairy tale “The Sun and the Cloud”.
Teacher. The sun wanted to admire herself in the mirror. But where can we get it in heaven? There is only wind, clouds and clouds.
“I’ll help you,” offered the small white Cloud.
- But as? – asked the Sun.
- Push me with your ray so that I jump! – Cloud laughed.
The Sun immediately pushed the white Cloud with several rays.
From this, droplets of water spilled out from the Cloud one after another onto the ground - rain. Each drop fell on a ray of sunlight so that he could see his reflection in it. It was very beautiful and colorful.
- How I want everyone on Earth to see how beautiful I am! – exclaimed the Sun.
And then a miracle happened! Multi-colored arcs appeared in the sky. Like these ones. (The teacher shows an example of work) This miracle is called a rainbow.
(The teacher shows pictures from the series “Seasons. Summer” depicting a rainbow and asks the children to tell what they know about it.)
Teacher. Since then, as soon as the Sun becomes sad and wants to admire himself, he calls the Cloud for help. But the rainbow does not only give us beauty. It consists of different colors that help decorate everything around us. (the teacher names all the colors of the spectrum sequentially).
Then the children play the game “Magic Rainbow.” (The game can be played in the form of a competition: children are divided into several teams, each team makes a rainbow from colored stripes, based on a sample.)
Main part: the teacher invites children to do appliqué work (rainbow) from ready-made forms. Children, under the guidance of a teacher, sequentially glue stripes of the rainbow, saying out loud the name of each spectral color. Then glue each blank onto cardboard. at the end of the work, stick on the sun and cloud
Result: children look at the finished work, name what colors were needed to make the rainbow.
Rainbow using CD
The experiment with the disk is quite unusual and amazing in its results. It is recommended to conduct the experiment in a dark room or in the evening.
- First, grab a CD. In order not to accidentally spoil the thing, it is better to take an old unnecessary disk;
- Secondly, take a sheet or cardboard;
- Thirdly, you will need a bright flashlight.
Take the disk and place it so that the mirror side is facing up. Direct the light from the flashlight onto the disk, move it at different angles until a rainbow appears.
How does this happen? This is because the disc is made from plastic, which creates grooves on the surface. They, in turn, perform the function of prisms; accordingly, the light is refracted and a rainbow appears.
This is a fascinating experiment you can conduct on a cloudy evening with your children.

Making a rainbow at home
For the experiment to be successful, you must have the following:
- A4 sheet or plain cardboard;
- Small mirror;
- Water container;
- Plasticine;
- Water and sun rays.
Now we will demonstrate a master class on how to make a rainbow.
Follow these steps:
- Fill the container with a small amount of water;
- Using plasticine, attach a small mirror to this container.
- In order for everything to work out, you must place the mirror so that one part of it is under water and the other is above it.
- Place this structure in a place where the sun's rays will fall on it;
- Next, take a sheet or cardboard, hold it over a container of water and try to catch a rainbow. You can change the mirror as you like, change the position of the sheet.
- A double rainbow evokes emotions of delight in a child - it is slightly paler than the first and is located at its top.

Rainbow using a glass of water and light
This experiment is very simple; it can be performed both in summer and winter. The main thing without which the experience may not be completed is without the sun. Necessary tools: glass, water and sun.
This kind of experiment is carried out either early in the morning, when the sun has just set, or in the evening, when it has not set below the horizon.
- The rainbow will be best seen on white wallpaper, or a bright room will suffice.
- You need a glass filled with water.
- Stand with your back to the sun so that the rays fall on a glass of water.
- Take the glass in your hands and begin to move it down and up in space.
- Do this until you see a rainbow.
