How to make an eco-lesson interesting: environmental education through art
If you are a teacher or parent of a schoolchild and are partial to environmental topics, perhaps you have come up with the idea of conducting an eco-lesson. But how to make it truly interesting? How to involve children, and especially teenagers, in caring for nature and instill in them an environmental culture? How not to cause boredom or rejection? The answer is simple: get creative.
Environmental education can be not only useful, but also enjoyable if you abandon tedious lectures in the style of “what is good and what is bad.” It is better to organize a joint action in which each participant can express themselves. Children easily absorb information and learn new habits. But this process is even more effective if the child’s task is not to passively perceive, but to invent and create. You can tell children about how to sort waste or, for example, how to save energy, through art and creativity.
