“The sources of children's creativity and talent are at their fingertips. In other words:
the more skill in a child's hand,
the smarter the child"
V. A. Sukhomlinsky.
Explanatory note
A child learns the world through manipulation, that is, actions with various objects that allow him to recognize and study their properties, while learning his creative abilities and changing what he touches. One of the child’s assistants in this most important task for his development is working with paper.
Applique is one of the simplest, most exciting and effective types of artistic activity. Children enjoy working with paper because it is easy to process. Non-traditional techniques for working with paper and non-traditional materials are especially attractive for children: torn, crumpled paper, paper napkins, cotton pads, etc. An unusual combination of materials and tools, accessibility, and simplicity of execution techniques satisfy the research need for them, awaken a feeling of joy, success, and develop labor skills.
Applique (paper plastic technique) is a synthesis of different types of visual activities: modeling, appliqué, drawing, designing from paper. Images in paper plastic are made in a semi-volume version; all parts and details are glued onto cardboard, which serves as a color background, which allows children to create bright individual and collective compositions.
By creating beautiful applications with their own hands and seeing the result of their work, children experience positive emotions. Working with paper gives children the opportunity to show patience, perseverance, imagination and artistic taste, show creativity, and acquire manual skills that allow them to feel independent. All this has a beneficial effect on the formation of a healthy and harmoniously developed personality.
The goal of the program: the development of manual skills in children through strengthening fine motor skills of the fingers and organizing joint visual creativity of children and adults.
Main goals:
- developing the ability to convey the simplest image of objects and phenomena of the surrounding world through three-dimensional appliqué;
- teach basic techniques in the “paper plastic” appliqué technique (tearing, crumpling, rolling into a ball); ability to work with glue, glue parts, attaching one to another;
- learn to work in a given space (gaining basic experience in composing a composition);
- enrichment of sensory impressions (at the level of sensations, the child learns the texture, density, color of paper);
- development of fine motor skills, coordination of hand movements, eye;
- development of speech skills;
- development of creative imagination, aesthetic and color perception;
- developing skills for accurate paper handling;
- nurturing the desire to participate in the creation of individual and collective works.
The program is designed for children of middle preschool age (4-5 years old)
This is due to the fact that at this age it is characterized by a significant increase in physical capabilities, especially the active development of small muscles of the hands, a change in the psychological position and the feeling of “adulthood” by preschoolers, the desire to show their individuality and creative abilities.
Club classes are held once a week for 20 minutes in the afternoon, in subgroups. The duration of productive activities with children can vary depending on the situation and the desires of the children. A flexible form of organizing child labor in leisure activities allows taking into account the individual characteristics of children, desires, health status, level of mastery of skills, being at a certain stage of the implementation of the plan and other possible factors. Each child works at his own level of difficulty, starting work from where he left off.
Classes are held in the form of a game; to play out a certain plot, poetic forms, fairy tales, movement and finger games, characters (toys and dolls from various theaters, images of a particular character who is played out) are used.
The duration of the program is 9 months.
Expected results:
Solving the problems of this program will help children master the basic techniques in the “paper plastic” technique: tearing and crumpling paper, coordinating their efforts and actions, conveying the image of an object, a phenomenon of the surrounding world. Mastering the skills of working with glue, and most importantly, will develop manual dexterity and fine motor skills, when the movements of both hands become more coordinated, and the movements of the fingers are differentiated.
The result of the program is exhibitions of children's works in kindergarten.

Circle work on appliqué as a form and method of work to develop children’s creative abilitiesauthor: Svetlana Yurievna Alyanova, teacher of preschool educational institution No. 18
Visual activity is of great importance in solving the problems of aesthetic education, since by its nature it is an artistic activity. The specific nature of visual arts classes provides ample opportunities for experiencing beauty and for developing children’s emotional and aesthetic attitude to reality.
Children's visual creativity is of great importance for the education and training of preschool children. Thus, the application contributes to the formation and development of many personal qualities of an individual, his mental and aesthetic capabilities, and the development of creative abilities. This implies the need to study not only fine arts, but also specific types of fine arts, including appliqué using non-traditional techniques. Artistic appliqué using non-traditional methods of working with paper, using various materials and techniques is an adequate activity that allows you to purposefully develop the creative abilities of preschool children.
Understanding the importance of this type of activity for the creative development of preschool children, I have developed an additional educational program for teaching children 5-6 years old appliqué using non-traditional techniques and materials “Flower-seven-colored”
.
The novelty of this program lies in the fact that children are given the concept that they can create with anything and in any way they want. The program reveals the possibility of using familiar objects as artistic materials.
The program is innovative in nature, since in the work system, all classes without exception are based on the use of non-traditional methods and ways of developing children’s creativity: various materials are used for appliqué (sequins, threads, scraps of fabric, cotton wool, matches, natural materials, cereals of various types)
.
The ability to make appliqué from various types of paper (velvet, foil, corrugated, self-adhesive)
.
They learn various applique techniques (mosaic, decorative, tearing)
and various actions with paper
(twisting, creasing, tearing)
as an unconventional way of working with this material.
The main goal of the appliqué club program is to develop the child’s creative abilities in applique, using non-traditional techniques for creating an image and composition. Thus, the main educational objectives of the circle program for the application “Flower-seven-flowered”
are:
- To draw children to the figurative expressiveness of various objects in art, natural and everyday environments; teach to see similarities between objects and phenomena of the surrounding world;
- Encourage children to embody their ideas, experiences, feelings, thoughts in applicative form, supporting personal creativity;
- Continue to introduce the qualities of various materials (foil, corrugated paper, cereal, eggshells, etc.)
, with composition options and different positions of the image on a sheet of paper.
In order for classes in appliqué circle work to contribute to the formation of creative abilities, it is necessary to create certain conditions. One of the conditions is the use of a rational combination of collective and individual forms of organizing work with different materials. This not only develops transfer skills, increases the artistic level of the compositions performed by children, but also develops their imagination and creative abilities. Therefore, the system of organizing activities in the “Tsvetik-Semitsvetik”
involves not only individual work, but also other forms of work:
- work in pairs (children work on one common sheet of paper, having previously agreed on what to cut out and where to place it on the sheet)
; - work in a mini-group of 4-6 children (a leader is selected, a sketch is drawn up, responsibilities are distributed)
. - collective work on one common sheet of whatman paper.
Another important condition for the successful development of children’s creative abilities during applique classes in circle work is the appropriateness of the structure of the lesson itself. Thus, the general structure of activities in classes in a circle necessarily includes:
- Introduction to the artistic and creative space.
- Emotional introduction to the artistic and visual task and formulation of the theme, setting creative tasks;
- Independent work of children and individual assistance (if necessary)
from an adult to each child. - Discussion with each child of his work in dialogue mode.
- Discussion of all works and obligatory praise and gratitude to everyone for their joint creative activity.
The program is designed for 30 lessons per year. Classes are held once a week from October to May. Class duration is 25 minutes.
In order to monitor the effectiveness of this program, children's visual skills are assessed annually. The results are revealed through observations of the activities of preschool children in the classroom and in free creative activity, as well as by analyzing children's works.
In the process of mastering the program, children learned to create an expressive image, using various traditional and non-traditional materials for applique, decorate the work and give it completeness with the help of additional material. Accuracy and accuracy of work performance have increased. One of the collective works of Lera U., Lisa V and Vika H. was sent to the city competition dedicated to Cosmonautics Day. Misha Sh. and Sveta P., who had not previously mastered various cutting techniques and methods of working with non-traditional types of paper, mastered the appliqué techniques offered by the program. Most children, who at the beginning of the year had a low level of development of creative abilities, learned to create their own original product using unconventional techniques for creating an image and composition.
The results of these diagnostic studies indicate that the program is successful. Work in this direction will continue and improve.

Creativity group for preschoolers in kindergarten
"Cheerful Palms" group.
Joint creativity of a teacher and a preschooler with visual impairment Author: Elena Nikolaevna Zaluzhnaya, teacher of the first qualification category of the Omsk BDOU “Kindergarten No. 52 of compensatory type.” Description of the material:
I offer a photo report about the work of my “Cheerful Palms” circle for preschoolers 4 – 7 years old. The material will be useful for children of middle and senior preschool age, educators, creative parents, teachers working with children with visual impairments; designed for joint work between children and adults.
"Cheerful Palms" group. Collaborative creativity between a teacher and a preschooler with visual impairments
Circle work (working with paper, paper napkins, tracing your palm, drawing with your palm, tracing on stencils, cutting out) is important for children with visual impairments; it leads us together to a common
goal : restoration and improvement of visual functions. In the classes of the “Funny Palms” circle (that’s what we called it) for children with low vision and strabismus, we solve the following problems : 1. Correctional:
develop visual perception of color, shape, size;
eye, fine motor skills of fingers, ability to navigate on a sheet of paper; 2. Educational:
introduce children to non-traditional techniques in art activities, consolidate visual skills, develop the ability to use various materials to create images - colored paper, paper napkins, cotton pads, foil;
3. Developmental:
develop creativity, imagination, fantasy;
4. Educational:
to cultivate the desire to please your loved ones, the skills of joint activities, the ability to share impressions with each other.

“It’s me – Elena Nikolaevna”
One day my student Khamin Matvey said: “Elena Nikolaevna, you keep teaching us to draw, we drew animals, flowers, winter, spring, and mother, but why have we never drawn you?” I replied: “I don’t even feel comfortable asking you about this.” “I’ll draw you now!” - said Matvey. And, just on an ordinary piece of paper, he drew my portrait. It is very dear to me, although it was drawn on an ordinary sheet of paper for free art, with felt-tip pens. When I look at myself in this picture, I think that everything is not in vain. It’s not in vain that you surf the Internet looking for new, unconventional techniques and materials, it’s not in vain that you look through magazines and books, it’s not in vain that you then adapt this material for your students, it’s not in vain that you first try a new technique yourself, and then teach it to your children. How good and joyful it is in your soul when you see the happy eyes of a child, that he did it himself, (even if sometimes he cut it out, or pasted it, or drew it with the help of a teacher), when you see the happy faces of mom and dad. I love my profession! I love my students!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL, SUCCESS IN YOUR WORK! THANK YOU!
