Water is the source of life
Water is the largest “food product” in terms of consumption in the human diet.
Plants contain up to 90% water, and the adult body contains about 70%. The importance of water in human life is very great. A sufficient supply of water to the body is one of the main conditions for a healthy lifestyle. Water delivers nutrients to every cell, removes toxins, waste and excess salts, and helps lower blood pressure. Drinking enough water is one of the best ways to prevent kidney stones. Water seems to “lubricate” the joints, and also regulates body temperature and ensures skin elasticity. Water is necessary for normal digestion. By participating in metabolism, this unique liquid allows you to reduce fat accumulation and lose weight. Do not forget about the importance of water in the lives of animals. Everything that we say about humans can equally be said about animals, and even more. After all, many animals cannot live without water even for a moment, because this is their habitat.
On our planet, water takes up much more space than land. 71 percent of our planet's surface is covered with water. I was convinced of this by looking at the globe. Most of the water on Earth is sea, salt water, and fresh water reserves are found in rivers, lakes and glaciers. And only 3 percent of fresh water is suitable for consumption, but even most of this three percent is not available, because... found in glaciers.
Water is the basis of life; all possible living organisms, animals and plants are composed of water. So, for example, of the total body weight: animals consist of 75 percent water, fish - 75 percent, jellyfish - 99 percent, potatoes - 76 percent, apples - 85 percent, cucumbers - 95 percent, even humans consist of water. 86 percent of water is found in a newborn and up to 50 percent in older people.
Water plays a vital role in all life processes and phenomena occurring on our planet.
Water is a transparent, colorless liquid, which is a pure chemical compound of hydrogen and oxygen. The chemical formula of water is H2O. This means that each water molecule contains two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom.
Water contains minerals that it washes out of the surrounding soil and rocks, and can exist in three states - solid (ice), liquid and gas (water vapor).
At temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius, water freezes and turns into solid ice. At a temperature of 100 degrees Celsius, water boils and begins to turn into steam.
If such steam rises above the water in a river, over a summer meadow or road, or envelops a city, we call it fog. At this time, the air becomes very humid, that is, it contains a large number of water particles. At night, the air cools down, and when it comes into contact with the warm earth, it evaporates: water vapor in the air turns into a liquid state and forms tiny droplets. These droplets are too light to fall to the ground, but too heavy to rise up. When the sun strongly heats the air, they again turn into steam and the fog dissipates.
Often the droplets merge, become heavier and fall to the ground in the form of dew. Dew can be observed not only on grass and leaves.
Water resources exist thanks to the constant circulation of water in nature. Water exchange in nature is the process of evaporation of water from the surface of the ocean and land, the transfer of water vapor, its condensation with subsequent precipitation, redistribution, all types of conditions, which ultimately leads to the return of water to the ocean, to the Earth.
Rains and meltwater irrigated the land, bringing substances beneficial to plants, revitalizing the very environment of nature.
Observations:
Every home has molds in the refrigerator for freezing water and making ice cubes. We use these cubes to cool drinks and juices on hot summer days. This solid state of water is ice.
During the summer holidays, we went to the mountains. There I watched water flowing from the mountains, there were thousands of streams. They went down as if along a serpentine road. At the foot of the mountain these streams gathered into one raging river. This means water is a liquid, it flows. Streams, rivers, seas, etc. - This is the liquid state of water.
I recently visited an exotic butterfly park and learned that these insects need moist air, just like in their natural habitat. To maintain the climate they need, I humidify the room all the time, evaporating the water and turning it into steam with a special apparatus. That’s why the windows are always foggy and small droplets of water fly in the air, it feels like you’re in a fog. This gaseous state of water is steam.

Properties of water and its three states.
The research project is devoted to the quality of tap water that flows from a school tap. Experiments are shown to determine the quality of tap water.
The environmental project “Clean Water” was developed by students of grades 2-4 of the Municipal Bank of the Pelya-Khovanskaya Secondary School. With this project we participated in the Internet project “We must live on this earth.” Clean's problem.
Lesson topic: Water. Properties of water. Goal: Formation of an idea of the properties of water, their connection with seasonal changes in nature. Tasks: 1. Develop techniques of mental activity through use.
The project was implemented by 4th grade children. Colloquial speech is rich in kind words, but few people use them in life. It is rare to hear kind words from people on the street, in society.
I present my experience of working on the “Word in Word” project: stages of the project (activities of the speech therapist, students), methodological passport, description of the product (game).

Sample for high school students
In high school, a student must be able to think independently. Tasks become more difficult; when performing them, not only deep knowledge is important, but also creativity. This is especially true, of course, in the humanities. Flights of fancy should not lead to distortion of facts.
Here is one example of how you can do creative work on the topic of what is the beauty of water:
- The water surface is always beautiful. If the river is not covered with ice, it itself looks alive. Its waves speak to people in their own language, whispering something mysterious and pleasant.
- There is no comparison to the impression of the lunar path along which you can ride a boat on a starry night. At such a moment a person becomes a real part of the Universe. It seems that this feeling will last forever.
- But even in winter, when you can skate or ski on the vast expanse of ice, enjoy the vastness of the plain and fresh air, life continues a few centimeters below. To be convinced of this, you just have to remove the snow near the shore, rub the ice to a mirror shine - and the winter fairy tale will be clearly visible.
- The surface of a river or lake, if it is not abundantly covered with snow, will shine almost until spring. Gray, dirty tones will not be able to dominate her for long. A noisy ice drift will begin, small pieces of ice and huge blocks of ice will float downstream.
- Even when the river just begins to open up, it is not safe to walk on the ice. But it’s also nice to watch the majestic spectacle from the side, from the shore.
- With the arrival of spring, the banks of the river come to life. The grass is breaking through, leaves are appearing on the trees, and the first spring birds are here.
- So the seasons will pass the baton to each other, revealing more and more new colors of the viviparous principle.
- But this relay race will be eternal only if humanity can finally learn to take care of nature, and the elders will show the younger ones examples of a worthy attitude towards both a small spring and a huge ocean.
If such a statement of thoughts seems too short, it can always be expanded by using epithets and increasing the number of vivid examples from real life. You can add arguments about the desire to demand stricter requirements for industrial enterprises that discharge contaminated water in the author’s hometown.
Ideally, the essay should also have some kind of educational role. In the water theme, it is easiest to emphasize the issues that humanity will feel safe only if there is enough water for everyone on Earth.
Completing a task in the world around you
In elementary school, children study a subject such as the world around them. A story about the beauty of water, its benefits, and its cycle is included in the program. Teachers may ask students to prepare an oral or written report on this topic. It will almost inevitably overlap with the answer based on pictures and videos, but it should be more serious and larger-scale.
If parents plan to help a student complete a task, then you can approach solving the problem in this way:
- First you need to explain to your child the importance of the topic. This can be done using a simple example: if you stop watering indoor plants, they will gradually dry out and die. At the same time, life-giving moisture can save even a dying plant. This is where you can start your writing assignment. It can be done by alternating verbal explanations and writing in a notebook.
- Later in the essay it is logical to move on to a larger example. You can tell how during a drought, vegetation and fauna die, people are left without crops, and famine begins. There is nothing beautiful about it, but as soon as the rain passes, the world begins to be reborn.
- Due to the amazing properties of water, its presence on the planet is a determining factor in the existence of highly developed life. At this stage of explanation, it is possible to demonstrate how important this factor is both in ordinary city apartments and in agriculture.
- But the real beauty, which will need to be emphasized in the text, is that water can take many different forms, and this allows its circulation in nature. In particular, evaporated from the surface, it forms clouds after cooling.
- The clouds need to be described separately. They come in different shapes and types. They can be used not only to predict the weather. Clouds can also be admired for pleasure. You can spend hours watching them change before your eyes, merge together, disappear into the distance and go overhead again.
- It is imperative to note the benefits of lakes, rivers and oceans. It is also important to say that such wealth must be protected in every possible way.
When discussing the irreplaceability of the most important natural resource, it would be good to point out in simple words that no descriptions can replace the most ordinary observations of the process of melting snow, hail, and river flow.
