Relevance of the program:

The whole life of preschoolers is connected with play. It is play that is the leading activity of a child during preschool age. With the development of leading activity, the most important change in the child’s psyche occurs, preparing the child for a new, higher stage of his development. (L.S. Vygotsky, A.N. Leontiev, D.B. Elkonin, V.V. Davydov, V.S. Mukhina and etc.)

The importance of play for preschool children was also noted by teachers of past centuries. The first person to consider play as an important tool in raising and educating a child was the famous German educator of the 19th century, Friedrich Froebel.

Friedrich Froebel (b. 1782 - 1852) - German humanist, teacher, author of an original system of education and training of preschoolers in a team, creator of the first kindergartens (1837). For his kindergarten he developed a set of games and toys, this set of educational materials he called it "gifts". According to Friedrich Froebel, a child’s play is not empty fun, it has a high meaning and deep significance. “A child who plays independently, calmly, persistently, even to the point of bodily fatigue, will certainly become capable, selflessly caring for the good of others and his own,” said F. Froebel. Play is a natural activity of childhood. The task of primary education is not to teach in the ordinary sense of the word, but to organize play.

When using the didactic material “Froebel's Gifts”, children develop social and communication skills, fine motor skills, cognitive research and logical abilities; elementary mathematical skills are formed. Having used the manual in practical activities with preschoolers, teachers saw amazing results.

A set of teaching aids for working with the game set “Froebel’s Gifts” in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard for Preschool Education opens up new opportunities for using this game set in the process of implementing approximate basic general education programs for preschool education.

The kit is easily coordinated with any general education program of a preschool educational institution. It can also find application when working with the author’s methods of development and education of preschoolers in various organizations providing educational services, and in the process of family education.

The set is an integral part of the developing subject-spatial educational environment. Its structure and content are developed in accordance with the principle of implementing leading play activities in preschool age and a personality-oriented approach to the development and upbringing of a child.

Working with the kit creates conditions for organizing both joint activities of adults and children, as well as independent playful, productive and cognitive-research activities of children.
