Progress of the event
I. Opening remarks
Host: One day people from all over the Earth decided to get together. Some came from the west, some from the east, from the north and south, from a rich country and from a poor one. There were both men and women here. They differed from each other in skin color, spoke different languages, and worshiped different gods. Many came from those places where the war was going on, where people were dying. Others came from countries where people are often persecuted for their religion, for their political views. All those present were united by one desire: that there would never be wars again, that no one would know fear and need, that no one could ever punish people without guilt. So they all wrote the Law together. They provided in this document a list of rights that every person on Earth, including children, has, so that everyone knows and respects these rights. This document is called the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Declaration of the Rights of the Child was adopted by the UN General Assembly on November 20, 1959.
Since 1990, Russia has been a party to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. In accordance with this international document, Russia has assumed numerous obligations to ensure the rights of the child. The Convention considers the child as an independent person, endowed with rights and capable, to one degree or another, of independently exercising and protecting them.
