Course of lessons on early teaching of reading to preschool children “Abvgdeyka”

Teaching preschoolers to read online in a playful way

Hello, here are online trainings on teaching reading to your children. The trainings are free. I, like you, agree with the thesis that the Internet makes everything free. Therefore, I tried to make high-quality exercises for you that helped my children and I hope that they will help yours too. I know that you don’t care how I get married or how I earn money. Previous versions of the site were stolen and posted online. I worked on them for many months... So I decided to immediately provide free access. You are not thinking about me, but about your children - and rightly so. Some of you are wondering why your daughter or son knows letters but cannot read. I know how to solve your problem easily and simply.

Click and start practicing letters, syllables and word reading

On a tablet, on a computer, on a phone

Educate your child in a modern way!
A child masters a computer faster than he learns to speak. “Research by antivirus company AVG found that children learn computer and electronic device skills earlier and more easily than traditional everyday skills.” “69%, 63% and 58% of children under five years old, respectively, can operate a computer mouse, turn the computer on and off, and play simple games on a PC. A quarter of children of the same age are able to launch an Internet browser on their own, and 16% of kids already know how to browse websites and follow links.” This means that interactive exercises are more readily accepted by children than reading books. Therefore, children do not want to study using boring paper manuals.

Exercises for learning to read

Learning to read, as a rule, takes place in several stages. First, the child listens to the sound and visually remembers the letters. Various games will help with this, where you need to look for letters, come up with words, etc. When this stage is over, you can move on to syllables and games to work on them. And only after this will it be possible to proceed to words, and then to sentences and texts.

Letter memorization exercises

The first step is to teach your child to recognize letters. To do this, you can use pictures with hidden letters. We use such exercises in our pre-school lessons at Skysmart.

Ask your child to identify which letter a word begins with or to name as many words as possible that begin with a particular letter.

Next, we train ourselves to distinguish correctly written letters from incorrect ones. This is also important for learning to write: preschoolers often mirror letters or distort individual elements.

Vowel and consonant exercises

Tasks in which you need to determine what sound a word begins with will help you learn to distinguish vowel sounds from consonants.

Finding the extra letter will also help you remember the difference between vowels and consonants.

Word Forming Exercises

When the child can already read short words, invite him to form a word from letters on his own.

It’s convenient to form words from syllables if you have cubes at hand, but you can try it on paper.

Another good exercise is to fill in the missing letter in a word. Children complete such tasks during lessons at the Skysmart online school.

Even more bright and fun exercises for learning to read are in the school preparation course from Skysmart. Attentive teachers will help your child learn to read, count and express himself through creativity. Classes are held online at a time convenient for the child and parents. Try it for free with an introductory lesson!

More effective than in development centers

As numerous experience shows, preschool children cannot concentrate on a task for more than 5 minutes. Afterwards they need rest. Let’s say the cost of classes at a development center is 500 rubles. 10 people attend classes. Classes last 45 minutes. In total, in terms of time, it turns out that the teacher spends 5 minutes on each child (and does he spend it at all?) - not every development center installs video cameras and films the lesson process.

Ask yourself questions:

  • How your baby's progress is monitored
  • How individual is the approach in development centers?
  • How quickly do you learn letters?

Our trainings do not offer miracles; we do not claim that a child will begin to read through a lesson. But what we can guarantee is an individual approach. The program has a dictionary of 900 words and it is being updated. Therefore, you can choose words for any warehouse.

Methods of teaching preschoolers to read

Warehouse reading

The method of teaching a child to read through warehouses was actually used back in Rus', but for modern parents this technique is associated with the name of the philologist Nikolai Aleksandrovich Zaitsev.

Zaitsev suggests not focusing on learning individual letters, as it can be difficult for students to understand how letters can merge into syllables and words. Teaching a child to read by syllables is also not always easy: one syllable can be quite long (glitter, ruble), and the boundaries of the syllables may not be obvious (Lun-tik or Lun-ntik?). Therefore, in Zaitsev’s methodology, a warehouse is used as the main unit.

The warehouse can be a combination of a consonant and a vowel letter (pa-pa, ma-ma), a separate consonant or vowel (de- d , ya-s-li , A -lyo-sha), as well as a combination of a consonant with a hard or soft sign ( ma- l -chi-k, let's go ).

In order for a preschooler to understand the differences between the recording of voiced and soft, vowel and consonant sounds, different types of frets have their own cube size, color and filling, which makes the cubes sound when shaken. The cubes affect several channels of perception at once, and the sequences need to be sung, not just pronounced - this way, according to the author of the method, learning is more interesting and effective.

One of the advantages of the method is that children willingly play with blocks themselves, and the process of learning to read becomes active and mobile.

Syllable reading

This technique, according to some sources, was developed by the Romans. Later, Nadezhda Sergeevna Zhukova, a Soviet and Russian speech therapist, created a primer based on it. In it she built her own system in which sounds and letters are sequentially introduced into speech.

Thanks to the fact that the concept of a syllable is introduced at an early stage, teaching a child to read syllables together becomes faster and easier. By the way, as in Zaitsev’s method, the syllables are suggested to be sung, and not just pronounced.

Based on the syllabic method, Zhukova developed a set of teaching aids - copybooks, copybooks and a book for reading. The manuals will help teach children 6 and 7 years old to read correctly at home.

Both techniques for teaching preschoolers to read are used in Skysmart's school readiness course. The course consists of two stages: first, children become familiar with letters and spellings, which allows them to quickly start reading simple words, and then they learn what a syllable is. Gradually we introduce more complex syllable structures and move on to reading phrases and sentences.

Sound analytical-synthetic teaching method

This technique originated in the USSR and is still considered the main one in schools and kindergartens in Russia. It was developed by the Soviet teacher and Russian language methodologist Alexandra Ilyinichna Voskresenskaya.

Like N.S. Zhukova, Voskresenskaya proposed her own order in which children should learn letters and sounds. The principle of this sequence was for the child to first learn letters that can be formed into simple syllables, and then move forward in level of complexity. As a result, children learn syllables in this order:

  1. Syllables of two letters (including one consonant): am, ma, ra, etc. and simple words from them: ra-ma, ma-sha, Pa-sha, etc.
  2. Syllables of three letters with a vowel in the center: poppy, lat, etc.
  3. The combination of the first two stages into words: sa-lat, land-la, etc.
  4. Words of three syllables and six letters: az-bu-ka, ve-se-lo, etc.
  5. Words of two syllables and six letters: question-ros, chai-nik, etc.
  6. Words with a combination of vowels at the beginning and end of a word: chair, march, etc.

This way, children simultaneously prepare for more complex syllables at each stage and reinforce what they have previously learned.

We save your time and money

Usually, the mother of a preschooler buys reading instructional goods for 3,0000 -7,000 rubles. A new benefit is purchased immediately after it becomes clear that the previous purchase was ineffective. No one is in a hurry to return money for ineffective classes or low-quality books. In the case of development centers, the situation is generally paradoxical. You cannot check the level of knowledge of teachers, you cannot interfere in the course of training, as a rule, you kiss closed doors and wait in the corridor outside the training class.

Learning to read: is your child ready to learn to read?

According to psychologists, the best age for learning to read is from 4.5 to 6 years. In practice, a child strives to learn to read at the age of 5 years. It is worth remembering that each child is individual in his development, and if you do not meet the generally accepted deadlines, this only means that the learning process should be postponed a little.

There are a number of factors that indicate whether a child is currently ready to master the reading process. Here are the most important of them:

  • There are no problems with pronunciation - the child has the correct tempo and rhythm of speech, all sounds are correct;
  • There are no hearing problems - the child does not ask questions many times, does not distort words that are easy to pronounce;
  • Sufficient command of speech - a rich vocabulary, the ability to construct phrases and express one’s thoughts clearly for others;
  • Developed phonemic hearing - the child can freely distinguish speech sounds, reproduce heard sounds, name the first/last sound in a word;
  • Free orientation in space - the child clearly knows the concepts of right/left and top/bottom.

By carefully observing your child, you will notice the moment when he becomes interested in putting letters into words. The child will show familiar symbols on store signs to mom and dad, and one day he will try to read them in full. Of course, in his first attempts, the baby will probably read the word incorrectly, but this is not scary - it indicates that his brain is ripe for learning a new skill.

Learn Russian by playing

  • Currently, the program knows more than 900 Russian words. All words are voiced and divided into syllables.
  • Because there is a lot of material. So many. That is, it was decided to use a minimum of animation, characters and voice acting were also practically excluded - it interferes in the case of intensive work with children. As trivial as it may sound, memorization comes through repetition of the same material. The more often the material is repeated, the more successful the memorization is.
  • Some of the material is paid.
  • The program was designed primarily by a programmer - a father of two children. I will say frankly that I do not have extensive experience interacting with other children and have scant experience in this area. Based on my experience, I came to the conclusion that it is necessary to remove all distractions when studying. I also realized that fathers don’t have much time for activities. Maybe 5-10 minutes a day. During this time you need to repeat the maximum. Children quickly lose interest in boring repetition and are more inclined to absorb worthless cartoons, so they look forward to the end of the lesson.
  • It is recommended to do the programs for 10-15 minutes a day. It is best if you remember the address of the page on the social network and return to classes once a day. There is a lot of material. It will be enough for 7-30 days of classes.
  • If you have a question for me, then write or on the social network https://vk.com/abcolut
  • I am looking for contacts with methodologists in the field of children's education to create training in other areas.

How to understand when it's time

To the question “When is it time for a child to learn to read?” There is no ready answer, but we would like to immediately warn against two misconceptions:

  1. “You don’t have to teach your child to read at home; they will teach you at school anyway.” Yes, they will teach you. But remember: the first year at school is the most intense in all 11 years of study. In just 4-5 months in 1st grade, a child goes through the alphabet “from” to “to”, learns to read, write, and the rest of the time he learns the basics of the Russian language. Therefore, it will be great if he has reading skills before school. This will reduce the burden on the child.
  2. “There is no time to waste - the sooner the baby starts reading, the better.” All children are different and develop at their own pace. Therefore, you should not impose learning to read on a preschooler as soon as he is 4–5 years old, if the student himself does not yet show interest in this activity. Instead, you can begin to develop an interest in reading through colorful and exciting books. Games that involve letters are also a good option.

The indicator that you should focus on is not the age of the preschooler, but his speech skills.

It's time to learn to read if...

If the speech development of a preschooler proceeds without gross violations. Let's figure out what criteria will help you find out whether your child is ready to learn to read:

  1. Understanding spoken speech. The baby must understand sentences, phrases, and individual words that others use to address him.
  2. Lexicon. The more words a child knows, the better he will understand what he reads. This will also help him communicate with adults and other children.
  3. Grammar. The skill of correctly constructing sentences, selecting and changing words is important for children who are learning to read.
  4. Pronunciation. For learning to be effective, the child must know how to pronounce words without making major mistakes.

Remember: in preschool age, a child may have minor flaws in grammar and pronunciation - this is normal. Over time, these violations will be corrected, and they should not be considered an obstacle to reading. But if the child is not yet very confident in speaking, do not rush him into reading - this will not help develop speech, but will only demotivate him.

First steps to reading: getting to know the letters

To teach a child to read, it is necessary to maintain an interest in books and letters from an early age. As a rule, at 2-3 years old children begin to show attention to the alphabet. It is very important for parents to provide the right developmental space at this moment.

Visualization

A child will remember the letters quite quickly if a bright poster with the Russian alphabet is in his field of vision. The baby points to the letter - say the corresponding sound. You may have to return to “A” and “B” more than once and repeat them, but this is how your baby will remember them faster. For busy parents, an interactive panel with letters will be a good help - it itself sounds the letter that the child clicks on.

Touch

To memorize the letters of the alphabet, it is important for a child to use his sense of touch. To develop your child’s abstract thinking, invite him to get acquainted with letters molded from plasticine or cut out of cardboard. Pay attention to the similarity of objects and letters - the horizontal bar looks like a “P”, and the donut is the spitting image of the letter “O”.

Tea party by letters

The process of learning letters will be very fun and tasty if you offer your child an edible alphabet. Using curly pasta, you can cook Abvgdeyka soup, and for dessert, bake your own homemade alphabet cookies.

Magnetic entertainment

With the help of a magnetic alphabet, you can turn the process of learning letters into a fun and memorable game. For example, 1-2 year old children can be lured by simply attaching a letter to the surface of the refrigerator and saying it. “Give me the letter! What do we have? This is the letter A! If your child is already 3 years old, he will enjoy playing “magnetic fishing.” You need all the magnetic letters in a container, and make an impromptu fishing rod from a stick and string with a magnet. Having caught a “fish”, pronounce its name, drawing an analogy with the word. “This is a fish! Look how much she looks like a beetle!”

By keys

Children love to imitate the actions of adults. Let your child press buttons in an open text editor to his heart's content - he will be interested in the letters appearing on the screen. Show me how to type the simplest word “mother”. You can print out the first letter and give it to your child. Even if there is a completely unthinkable combination, this will be a kind of impetus for memorizing the alphabet. Also, to master letters, you can give your child an old computer keyboard to “tear to pieces.”

How a child is formed. general information

Here, as you should understand, we will present only general information, because... it will be quite enough.

So, starting from the early stages of pregnancy and ending at the age of three, the first functional block of the baby’s brain is formed, which is responsible for his bodily, cognitive and emotional perception.

From three to five to eight years, the formation of the second functional block of the brain occurs, which controls the five senses - touch, taste, smell, hearing and vision.

As for conscious mental activity, it develops in a period of approximately seven to fifteen years.

It should be borne in mind that the formation of functional brain blocks is a sequential process. Any attempt by a parent to “skip” any stage negatively affects the natural development of the child, because unnatural “adjustments” are made to it. The insidiousness of the consequences lies in the fact that, quite likely, they will not be felt immediately, but over the years. Subsequently, an already matured child may develop problems, expressed not only in speech disorders, neuroses, motor disturbances, etc., but also in difficulties in relationships with other people.

Based on this, you need to start teaching your child to read at a certain time.
